Oil Refining

The primary technological challenges in oil refining today involve the comprehensive modernization of refining facilities—a critical focus for all oil companies in Tatarstan. As part of a national initiative, LLC "PK Chelnypromagregat" is establishing new catalyst production facilities, pioneering innovative technologies, and significantly enhancing safety standards in the production of high-performance, environmentally-friendly gasoline.

 All secondary refining processes depend on the use of catalysts. LLC "PK Chelnypromagregat" is the only oil company in the CIS with its own production facilities for catalytic-cracking catalysts, boasting a capacity of 3,000 tonnes per year. However, this capacity is sufficient only to meet the needs of the company’s own refineries. Most other oil refining facilities in Tatarstan rely on imported catalysts, particularly for hydro-processing (hydrocracking and hydrotreating), where nearly 100% of the catalysts are sourced from abroad.
